Social butterflies

Just a few points I want to mention before crashing and hitting the hay:

(1) The commute still sucks. One day I'll stop complaining about it... Maybe.

(2) The guest speaker today was AMAZING! Gerard Citera, Counsel, Davis Polk & Wardwell LLP and Former Deputy General Counsel, PaineWebber gave us an "Introduction to Equity Markets." I was incredibly impressed by his clarity in explaining equity markets and the history of the exchanges and corresponding regulations in the U.S. as well as with his responsiveness to our questions! He was a fabulous speaker, I hope I am at least half as knowledgeable as him when I grow up! He would be a wonderful contact to keep in mind if I ever have any questions about the legal side of corporate investments, exchanges, related regulations, investment banking activities (or anything to do with banking for that matter), or any sort of business transaction.

(3) We had an informal social this evening from 6:30-8:30 p.m. at the Public House NYC at 140 E 41st St. The venue was great to grab a drink and/or appetizer after work or something but not the greatest for a social event because it was a little on the loud side. However, the company was great, the beer was cold, and the appetizers were yummy -- what more can you ask for! The best part of the night was meeting my mentor! She is a UB Law alum working in house at an investment bank, which is AWESOME! I am looking forward to meeting with her in the near future to ask her some questions about her job, career path and all that jazz -- maybe over lunch or coffee! (Note to self: follow up in an email tomorrow).

So far everyday class has gotten better and better! I am definitely looking forward to tomorrow.

My group is meeting with Profeasor Halpern after class tomorrow so I have to go finish preparing for that before I get some shut eye. So that's all for now! As Justin would say, Cheers!
