Esme and mum...
What a fabulous day we've had! :-))
We last had the pleasure of this little bundle of joy's company way back in February and although we've kept in touch digitally during lockdown (she won't be 2 till September but my goodness she knows how to use a smartphone!) it's not the same as being in the aura of utter joy that just radiates from this little bundle of energy.
They arrived at ours having been strawberry and raspberry picking at Broadslap (see pic in extra. They should have weighed her on the way in and out to get the true cost of the strawberries she had! :-) and the fin began.
When she was here in February she loved Lola but was a bit intimidated by her (hardly surprising given the she looms over Esme) but in the intervening time she has gained confidence and now we have to keep a watchful eye as she's almost too confident with Lola! Of course Lola just sees Esme as a litter mate, especially when she runs around and Lola chases her. Much squealing of delight and barking!
Thankfully the weather was lovely so we could get into the side garden to let both Lola and Esme expend some energy. I bought Esme a build your own garden toy and she loved it! We just had to make sure Lola didn't get hold of any of the colourful plastic pieces!
Lola of course was over the moon to see the rest of the gang too and I've pt a pic in extras of her desperately trying to squeeze her bahookie onto the sofa between Jennifer and Nikki! She has no concept of personal space! :-))
After a lovely time in the garden (where Esme taught Lola to steal stones from the water feature and scatter them about the place!) we came indoors for dinner followed by apple crumble for some, and the freshly picked strawberries and raspberries with cream. Delicious!
All too soon it was time for them to leave. Esme wanted me to go with them. My heart almost burst!
