Wild, wet and windy walking today up on Winder Fell which provides a green backdrop to the small settlement of Sedbergh.
We were surprised that it took us less than an hour to get there and how very easy the journey was.
We met our lovely friend who we shared digs with when we were at university , climbed the hill , catching up on family news and then found a bit of shelter just below the trig point to eat our picnic .
We had a second walk along a couple of rivers, which were pretty full of brown peaty water rushing by at speed . Even Bramble the water dog stayed well away .
The photo was taken from one of the bridges we crossed.
The only slight hiccup in the day was when Dave slipped on a stone, part way across a stream and ended up sitting in it after banging his poor shoulder .
We had a lovely day and the sun broke through as we headed for home.
We have a whole plead of book titles to add to our list as our friend has always Some to recommend.
