Dwarf Iris...........

.....................I remarked the other day that I had lost my purple Iris reticulata, so was extremely pleased to find this one hiding amongst the leaves of a Hellebore! I could not quite make out what the white bits in the middle were - so went out and has another look. It is not bad photography - the miniscule stamens are really just a fuzzy white and however closely I looked, I could not separate them. The markings on the petals were lovely, I thought. It is a pity that there appears to be only the one though.

Weather is bright and sunny with a temperature of 2 deg C and at least the wind has dropped considerably, so it doesn't feel quite so cold.
