Gentle shade

A weekend of lovely things make all the more pleasant by the sunny weather.

On Saturday afternoon we made our way to a country house hotel near Hook in Hampshire to meet Andy's life long friend for a (socially distanced) picnic afternoon tea.  Andy has known his friend and his family since he was a baby and a small number of us gathered aged from 3 years to 96 years to celebrate Andy's friend's birthday.  It felt like a wonderful escape and so refreshing to meet with some special people after all these months of isolation.

Merlin spent the day/night at the kennels and greeted us enthusiastically when we collected him this morning.  He seems to enjoy himself there though - always leaving us without looking back.

Later this afternoon I spent a few hours at the allotment.  I picked more courgettes, lettuce, berries, Swiss chard and potatoes. The grape vines I inherited on my plot are growing profusely and are covered in tiny bunches of grapes -- no good for eating though and  don't plan to go into wine production either, but they do provide good shade.

And that was the weekend!  Hoping you had time to do some things that make you happy.  Take care and all the best.
