Walking Tour
Today we went for an amazing walk round the local green spaces and hills of Edinburgh, close to our flat. We shared the company of a few friends, and what with the sunshine it made for a very perfect day. We walked about 10 miles in all, finishing with an ice cream and a cup of tea in the garden.
We walked as far as Liberton, and had our lunch at the observatory which gave us some of the finest views, as you can see from this shot of Edinburgh Castle.
As we neared home we saw a pair of Moor Hens (see extra) nesting in a tree-with young, at Craiglockhart. I took some great video footage of it.
It was quite a thing seeing the male carefully climbing up and down the tree.
Hoping to see the start of the virtual Edinburgh Festival tonight, taking the form of a light show across the city.
