The Big Storm Aftermath

Hard to believe the bit where Breagha is standing on previous days pic on the South Inch is now under water!

Never experienced a storm like it! From 1030 on Tuesday evening to when we went to bed at 530 it raged. Monumental thunder, lightning lasting for a good number of seconds lightening up the who outside as if it was daylight, and the next flash only seconds behind! And the rain..... so bad that out street, despite being higher up and no river nearby became just that, a river. And because we are down the slope from the main roads water was cascading down the drive bringing with it the stones, thereby blocking our drain which then built up and water was pouring out our downstairs shower. Luckily , around 330 when we were watching all the drama unfold we went downstairs to check, as there was a river flowing near the front door. Saw all the water surging up and went and grabbed all the towels we had while S went outside to shift the stones from the drain. He also cleared all the cr*p from the street drains which goes unblocked by the Council .

It was some night, never, ever experienced a storm like it! Perth was hit bad with flooding and the High School which was meant to open for some pupils remained closed.

Our next door neighbour has the same issue with the flooding and there were drives whose stones landed round their back.

So it was a day of recovery, and in one of the hottest days of the year!!
