A Perfect Day

I've enjoyed today immensely!
Not that I've done anything spectacular.
I took Bella May walkies this morning as Frank had a Dr appointment.
The weather has been perfect for me - a sunny warm day with a light breeze.
I gave our bedroom a thorough clean from ceiling lampshade down to the skirting boards and changed the bedding.
I love going to bed in a clean fresh room!
Got the laundry dry outside.
Repotted the two indoor plants from the bathroom.

I then got all my sewing patterns out and any fabrics that would be suitable for a dress. I have no cool cotton dresses for this hot weather. Anyway, I found and easy pattern for a shift which I must have made years ago judging by my writing on the packet - 'Needs taking in 1/2 inch back seam and sides for size 10'! :-D))) Haha! Today I had to add on an inch front and back! I must have been a skinny malinky back then.
The pattern is good as it is really easy and has no zip, it just slips on over the head. Because I was worried about wasting the fabrics I tore up an old sheet and made the dress roughly to see if it would fit and it did - perfectly!

Spoke to Sabrina a couple of times on the phone. She's been having a rough time at work (social work) with her nasty boss and is signed off with stress. I saw this type of bullying a few times when I was nursing. These are caring professions! Why be horrible when you could be nice? It's mostly been snide remarks about the fact that she has children and needs to work around school and nursery times. One remark was 'Anyone of childbearing age applying for a job here in future won't get it!'

She has such joy in her children and her boss tries to make her feel guilty for having them!

This morning Amelia woke mummy up at 4 am complaing of tummy ache. Sabrina asked, 'Is it a proper tummy ache or are you excited because you're going back to school?'
'YES! I am!' Came the reply. Bless.
Then after breakfast, all went really quiet while Sabrina was upstairs getting ready. She came down to check on them and found them both strapped into their car seats all ready to go - 20 minutes early! They'd got themselves ready, schoolbags packed and sneaked out with the car keys! She'll have keep a close eye on them!

I feel sorry for all the kids whose grades have been marked down by this government algorithm. How disappointing and confidence knocking that is.
