Setting sail

The weather this morning was neither fish nor fowl. It wasn’t wet or cold but the cloud was just hanging. We set off on a favourite walk anyway. Lots of nice flora at the minute, different to when we come earlier in the year, in particular the lovely heather. I’ve seen at least four varieties.
Didn’t do the whole circuit to Culnacraig but came back a different way taking in a beach we discovered last year. Ours were the only foot prints on it. 

Had a coffee at the Piping School, which is only doing takeaway at the moment, then we were right on time to meet the family at Old Dorney Harbour.
They have a small boat moored there so my job was to entertain Eda while they fixed up the sails etc. 
We found shells and crabs and enjoyed watching the boats and diggers at the jetty but what she liked most was being a mermaid on the rocks and watching daddy. She matches the boat, Nanty, rather well!

The advantage of the time setting up was that the sun came through and it was another lovely afternoon by the time they set off. Just beyond the boat is a spit that has to be rounded, it was apparently full of seals which Eda loved. We looked at them through the binoculars when they got back. We didn’t know they were there as they blended in so well.

We headed round to the Am Furan bar where we could sit out with a drink and watch them arrive on the Isle of Ristol where there is a beautiful white sand beach. 
I’m not one for sitting in the sun but, together with the wind, it has caught me out today, my face is rather red!

We baby sat tonight  and returned to our accommodation as the sun was setting, and that wasn’t the only treat, lots of Fallow deer near and crossing the road on our way.

Another great day and we are nearly at our last!
