Old friends

A change in the weather and a much cooler BBQ this evening with a couple of old friends (and their guitars). Even though jumpers were needed later the food, song and merriment ensured another very memorable evening in. How can 6 hours pass so quickly?
Earlier, a quick trip to Tissington found someone else's old friends put to good use. I wouldn't call our friends old boots :-) The extra is of the main street in Tissington, a lovely old tea room, and as you can see with the bikes outside a good stop off for those cycling the Tissington Trail, an old rail line. Also in view is Tissington Hall, the home of Sir Richard FitzHerbert. The hall was built in 1609 by Francis FitzHerbert and has remained in the family ever since. The current occupant, the 9th Baronet, live a frugal lifestyle as a slave to the house and the estate. There have been many tv shows about how he lives in order to keep the house in repair even without modern heating systems etc. Inheritance taxes, divorce settlements and large maintenance bills have taken a toll but to his credit he hires out the grounds for weddings and works hard to ensure he plays his part in preserving the historical building. He is known to everyone locally .
