The Crucifixion - Peter Howson

This large scale painting of Jesus by renowned artist Peter Howson is on display at St Mungo Museum of Religious Life and Art throughout 2013. Its privately owned but on loan for the year.

Its a very striking painting but one of these art works people tend to either love or hate. It also has the added problem of occupying the space originally filled by Salvador Dali's masterpiece, Christ of St John of the Cross which was named Scotland's favourite painting.
