Violets

I love it when our violets bloom. It feels very like spring today and should remain so for the weekend.

I particularly like putting violets in this yellow glass bud vase, purple and yellow being complementary colours. Never fail to please.

The extra shows an orchid I'm gifting to my sister in law, and the weeping habit of the leptospermum flavescens, a small piece of which I blipped recently. Some of the New Zealand blippers thought from its appearance that it might be the Manuka honey flower, but they later confirmed that leptospermum scoparium is the one for the honey.
