Sea potato ‘shells’ on Belhaven beach. The recent storm had washed up mountains of seaweed, along with the biggest crop of this particular type of sea urchin I’ve ever seen.

My employer really struggles with the idea of bank holidays that are not observed everywhere in the UK and over time I’ve learned it’s just easier if I take England’s days rather than constantly row against the tide. So I had the day off and took the dog to the beach. And apart from a few surfers it was almost deserted. And no horses :)
