Middleton Lakes

We met John and Jennie at Middleton Hall. We both brought picnics and had a nice lunch alfresco at one of their outside tables.  Although the weather had started rather damp it improved as the afternoon progressed and we took a walk through the woods to the lakes.

I spotted this single lapwing on the bank then a flock flew a few circuits above us.  

I took quite a few photos on the walk, but haven't time to sort them all this evening......coffee and tennis calls!
