Morning light

Our last day camping.  We slept better last night as the owls were quieter!  The morning was cool and the grass wet with the dew.  We enjoyed the gentle morning sun rays next to this timber shelter whilst we cooked breakfast and admired how the shelter had been constructed.  It felt wonderful to have the time to take things as slowly as we wanted and to appreciate the morning light and the birds pottering around in the trees around us.

Then it was time to pack up and say farewell to the campsite and our fellow campers many of whom were off to continue on their travel along the South Downs Way.  Its been good to have a few days away.  Even though we are only a short distance from home, we are in a different part of the Downs and it has been refreshing to visit places I haven't been to before and to have time to appreciate the beauty and history of our local landscape.

Merlin seems to have enjoyed the trip at times but has been quite anxious and confused about what we are doing.  We've not been many places with him this year because of the lock down. Hopefully next time we go camping with him he will know what to expect and will be more relaxed!

In Extras I have put a picture of the straw bale building which  housed the shower and washing up area.  I have back blipped the last two days.
