Following the science

This gathering has been in all our diaries since 19th July, so we were pleased that the new restrictions don't apply until Monday. 

To be a member of my group one must be female, 40+ and friendly, which naturally enough applies to our host. She is also a member of another group to whom the same restrictions do not apply, and they were also invited.

It was interesting to watch the two groups, for the most part, keeping themselves to themselves. It was also interesting to see that the all-female group was having a lot more fun, and that fun was drawing the attention of the male members of the other group.

From Monday onwards this kind of gathering will become illegal unless two of the people present are entering into a legally recognised partnership with each other. This is called “following the science”.
