How Do You Like Them Apples?

Dear O'H dear and Lovely Tea Jenny,

I was walking behind a couple of women on Blackford Hill the other day and one of the women was talking about her daughter, who had recently turned 50.

“Her best friend turned 50 a few months ago and her husband gave her a ring and a letter with 50 reasons why he loves her.”

Now, sweet as this was, I think it’s fair to say that all the husbands in that social circle think that the best friend’s husband is a complete t0sser for setting the bar (and expectations) so high.

She continued...

“My son-in-law said he wasn’t any good with words so he gave my daughter a dictionary.”

I almost laughed out loud as I passed. It’s also fair to say that her son-in-law is the guy they all want around as he makes the rest of them look great.

Although he is definitely in the dog house with his wife and mother-in-law!
