Romsey War Memorial

A decent nights sleep, we woke early to a sunny & bright blue sky.

After breakfast we decided to head out to explore Romsey, a small market town not too far away, for a day.

We initially went to a garden centre en route for a mooch and a coffee, but their coffee shop wasnt open....so we carried on to Romsey.

We did struggle initially to find somewhere to park, but had an hour parked by the river, which gave us enough time to go for a coffee in good ol Costa ;-) We then moved the car and followed the diversion signs which lead us around the town outskirts and finally to a proper long stay car park.

We walked back into town, had little wander, bought a lovely sourdough loaf from a little bakery...then found somewhere to have some lunch, which was very nice. I also bought some ripe fresh figs, which I love :-)

After lunch we walked around the town, before going to look at the Abbey.....we didnt go inside but it is a lovely old building, see extra.

Later we walked on to Romsey War Memorial Park, which is very pretty, with its horse and soldier statue, bandstand, beside the River Test, as you can see in todays blip.

Its been really lovely and warm today, 25 degrees, definitely shorts & tee weather :-)
Once we got back to sis and BiLs, we all sat outside enjoying the late sunshine, with another bottle of fizz ;-)

Tonights food will be a cold platter of meats, cheese, sourdough bread, with fresh figs ;-)

We have all just sat down to catch up on the pre-recorded Covid programme from this morning at 11am, only to find out that the broadband signal dropped out so it hasnt record :-(

Sis is currently sat on the floor faffing trying to reconnect their broadbroad router....... looks like we might have success.....oh no we havent, oh yes we have :-) This is exactly what we had at home recently...sods law lol

Its been a good day today.......BiL has just opened another bottle of red for with the cheese ;-)

Hope you are all staying safe
