Nest...

...A light as air wasps nest.
 
Double insulated (it's the Derbyshire air, we all wear an extra overcoat). 
It's exactly the same colour as our wooden garden furniture. 
I've seen them chewing bits off the table, to make a waspy Taj Mahal somewhere. 
I don't know why it (both parts) ended up on the doorstep today. 
When I tried to photograph it it kept blowing away (and yes. My chase did make an interesting spectacle as it happens). 

I don't know why it stayed put on the step.

Perhaps it was a gift?

So I'm most grateful.
It is incredibly intricate and beautiful. 
(Even it is mostly wasp spit).
