Say what you see
Seriously, what do you see?
Life began today. Teehee.
120 biscuits baked. Mexican shredded beef for tea. Not yet packed for my jaunt to Northumberland, best go and do that.
Doctors tomorrow, then the long drive.
New binoculars have been tested - they are lovely and crisp - Corin saw M42 (Orion Nebula) through them. Not heavy, nice to view with.
More presents and cards arrived today. Thank you again...I will write proper thank you cards next week. I have the COOLEST and silliest pair of boots I have ever owned, courtesy of my husband. As for my son, he forgot...thought it was tomorrow. However, in the same breath he said "39 isn't it" and that made it a little better.
Books are marked.
Circular conversation with Nana - 2nd time this week.
"Your Aunty Rose asked me to ask you what the thing is that everyone is talking about that is orbiting the universe"
"Could you be slightly more specific Nana?"
"I don't know - she just said everyone was talking about it"
"Was it maybe the asteroid that will be visible tomorrow night as it flies past the Earth about 35km away?"
"Oh, well maybe, but that's not very close"
....
I paused
...
Did I REALLY want to explain the relative distance to Nana?
...
I tried. I gave her something to hang her understanding on..."It will be closer than the satellites in orbit around the Earth that provide your Satellite TV"
"Oooooh, thats quite close then really"
RESULT!
Love conversations with Nana. Particularly when she then tells me the same stories she told me earlier in the week :-)
Right, I am barely awake. I did not sleep well last night and I got up early this morning. Hopefully I have tricked my body into thinking that it really needs to sleep.
