Today's the day ……………………. for mellow yellow

You really don't have to be outrageously colourful - like the chilli peppers in extras - to make a statement in the garden.

These pale, greenish-yellow tobacco plants are one of my favourites, especially because they are at their best at this time of the year when there are not a lot of plants still in flower.  They have more than a touch of class, making their subtle presence felt, at the back of a lightly shaded or sunny border. 

And, best of all, they just look after themselves - they appeared as if by magic and self-seed wherever the fancy takes them...……………..
