Posing lessons
Archie’s vet student came early to take him out for a long walk. She said it’s the highlight of her week - I think the workload is pretty tough.
It was a sunny morning. JR went to the gym, but she’s getting increasingly nervous about going and is considering freezing her membership again.
When he came home, I gave Archie a haircut. I used my new cordless cutter - he wasn’t keen on the different noise at first - and it was a pretty close shave, actually. He may need to wear a coat when he goes out in the cold weather.
We walked into town, across the Meadows and down the Vennel steps this time. I only posed for a photo because I want to send it to my friend in Sydney, as I’m wearing the jacket that I snaffled from her many years ago when we were staying with her. It reminds me of a wonderful holiday in Oz.
But there were two people in the prime spot taking absolutely AGES. The girl kept striking poses this way and that, and the photographer was bent double to get the right angle. I took some posing hints from her, JR didn’t take any hints from him, Archie did his usual professional job, and we did it in two ticks.
We walked round to the Gardens (Extra) and JR went to the shops (to return something), while Archie and I took the bus home, but got off by the Meadows so that he could have another run.
Our First Minister has imposed more restrictions on pubs and restaurants for a two week, three weekend clamp down. The virus is rampant in the Central Belt, including the area where we are. Not sure what the implications for the gyms are. Many young folk don’t even try to observe any rules, and it’s us, the old folk, who have to step out of the way on to the road or step aside as they barge on, en masse, oblivious. But I suppose they think we shouldn’t even be out. And maybe we shouldn’t, as our actual post code is a Covid hotspot.
Scotland has recorded 1, 054 new cases and 1 death today.
