1919 face masks

At the end of the first world war the troops returning home, to their many respective countries, carried the deadly Spanish Flu virus with them. it affected 500 million people with 20-50 million deaths.
This photograph was taken in 1919 showing the workforce at Iver Johnson  Harley Davidson dealership in Fitchburg, Massachusetts 1871-1993.

I took this photograph from an article in the Harley Davidson magazine, 'The Enthusiast' which is the new old name. The magazine was 'The Enthusiast' from 1916 to 2008 and they have now changed it back to reflect a great H.D. tradition.
I think they are having a hard time, not just with the Covid pandemic but the competition in motorcycles is fierce with cheaper, and some think more reliable, Japanese and even British bikes.
I had plenty of time to read it, 5 hours in A&E for a scan after the fall 13 days ago. Glad to say that whatever was wrong with my head seems to have cleared itself up and the CT scan did not show anything serious. Probably because the absence of a brain meant little damage could be done!
Extra shows the A&E at Gloucestershire Royal Hospital around 18:40 while I was waiting for Daniel to come and pick me up.
