Coffee break

I’ve mostly been tootling around in the kitchen today, tidying stuff and trying to make a space on the kitchen table for eating there. We tend to be a bit messy, the Ards Man and I.

Take the sitting room table as evidence! I have to confess that this is all my stuff, placed within reaching distance of my ‘reading chair’. I don’t know where the bit of dangling string must have come from.

The AM has just made me laugh by reporting back on his attempt to keep the starlings from perching (and pooping) on his boat. He made a ‘snake’ from a bit of green hose pipe and ran it up the boat rigging to the spot where the birds usually sit, in an attempt to terrify them. Ha! Apparently there were three starlings still sitting and pooping, probably laughing their little hollow legs off. Who on earth would believe that a green snake would be hanging around the boat rigging in County Down? Haven’t they heard of Saint Patrick? The starlings obviously had and they weren’t fooled for an instant.

Oh well, it entertained me! :)

PS the photo cards on the mantle are from mrshb70. I’be been gathering them for weeks, I’m going for the whole set! She has ten different ones.... :)
