Emmaus

Until very recently I would have flatly refused to take a day off for anything mundane or resembling ‘life admin’. How the tides have turned now that grand adventures are off the table and we career towards the end of the year with an overly healthy tally of leave days remaining.

I didn’t work today and instead did some overdue chores that need to be done at some point before I travel, whenever that may be. I visited the local Emmaus site with some donations. This is a charity I’ve long admired for its focus on providing homes and jobs for homeless people to work themselves out of their situation, and create more stable lives. There’s a huge shop that I’ve rummaged around before and found some gems. If there’s an Emmaus near you, I recommend a visit.
