Spring is just around the corner!
Beautiful morning, and a perfect start to the weekend.
busy day ahead, took Pete a walk first thing, and was actually quite misty over the fields. had my camera with me and got talking to another dog walker who's told me to look out for hares in the field. he said they start boxing soon - hence as 'mad as a March hare!' you learn something new everyday!
Normally shy animals, hares change their behaviours in the spring, when they can be seen in broad daylight chasing one another around meadows. During this spring frenzy, hares can be seen "boxing", where hares strike one another with their paws. For a long time, this had been thought to be competition between males, but closer observation has revealed it is usually a female hitting a male, either to show she is not yet quite ready to mate or as a test of his determination.
Pete back home and then i've a couple of hours or so to go and take my monthly pics. Another walk over the fields later, the sun burnt off all that mist to shower us with sunshine.
went to test drive a car in the afternoon, but wasn't impressed - felt too old for me and not fun! so, decided on another conv instead! was there ages, and the guy that dealt with me, knows Rach! what a small world!
out for dinner in the evening, at Jo's. Ruth came too, lovely evening there, great food and great to catch up. back in just after midnight, and quickly to bed.
