Halloween and it is my niece's 14th birthday today.  She celebrated by going out for lunch to a pizza restaurant and with a few members of family  in the evening where they cut (and ate!) the impressive cake my sister has spent many hours creating.

We took Merlin for a wander and cleaned the house. Later Merlin wasn't feeling so good so we wrapped him in a blanket and sat with him until he fell asleep.  He has managed to eat some chicken and his tablets, and this evening has been a little better.

So, what with the rain and Merlin, it has been a day of doing little jobs at home (making cranberry and coconut rock cakes, reading up on massage course notes, and sorting out paperwork for my tax return!) and later, waiting for Boris's press conference to hear the details of the proposed national lock down that will likely commence on Thursday and last until early December (so long as it is voted through parliament).  At least we had a little afternoon sunshine to cheer our souls.
