Pooley Bridge

We had to go to the lodge today to do some work so we went via Pooley Bridge to see how work was getting on. The new bridge is still only a single carriageway but it benefits by having a pavement on each side.

We had been dissapointed when work started on the replacement for the bridge demolished by Storm Desmond, the riverside trees had been removed. The shore had been built up and looked as if there wouldn't be access.

Now the work is almost finished and it looks as if the shoreline is being landscaped. I'm sure parking meters will be installed now but access to the river Eamont will be nice.

How could I possibly have forgotten that Granny Dowbekin's Cafe would be closed so no photo of the bridge shape could be got.
