Remnants of Summer

A busy day but managed to pop out into the botanics at lunchtime and take a few photographs. These seed heads were lit by the sunshine and I thought looked particularly beautiful with the contrast of the dark hedge behind.

The garden has been a hive of activity with the horticulture team out cutting new beds, putting in new paths and putting compost on to the beds. I am surprised these seed heads have so far been spared the gardeners' secateurs!
