St Ives Estate catch up

Supposed to be meeting friend H in town for a wander along the riverside, and then a takeaway coffee in the park.  Did community choir Zoom whilst waiting for the roofer who had phoned me on Wednesday to arrange to call this morning.  The roofer didn’t arrive, and his phone was off, so sent a text.  He tried to ring me, but I hadn’t realised my phone was on silent.  Rang him back but got answerphone.  Tried a little later and still on answerphone so left a message.  So, deciding nothing could be done we went up to St Ives and had a wander around the pond.  It was very quiet at first with just the one swan swimming serenely around - we then got out the duck and swan food, and the lower photo shows the result, and this is only a small section of all the birds which suddenly appeared!,   Although it was mid- afternoon they seemed ravenous, and those gulls are so noisy!  It was very chilly by then, so a takeaway drink from the Ivy kitchen was very welcome.  We saw friends B & P and had quite a chat, and then I walked back with H to her car and I took a longer route home.  Met quite a few people I knew in the way back, so by the time I arrived home it was dark, and I was freezing.  Took me a couple of hours to warm up.  Time to dig out the gloves and fleece jacket liner I think!
