another autumnal walk

I didn’t venture out over the weekend but had zoom calls and watched lots of the Masters golf and no blipping instead. The weather today was at least dry, albeit hardly light, so we drove to Allestree park a nice nature reserve, lake and golf course run by the council. Less than 10 minutes away but at least 20 years since we walked there. It is a bit of a dog walkers track but lovely woods and fields and it still has plenty of autumn colour. We also strolled over the empty golf course and around the sad decaying country house which the council has been going to sell for many years but always falls through for various reasons. The most common proposed future purpose is for a hotel but I think it is to difficult to sort out how that works commercially in the middle of public land. It's a shame because the building could look grand again. The last extra shows how sad it looks now.
