Plover Scar

Had an important site visit this afternoon so I took my lunch with me to have on the way at a lovely spot near a ruined abbey called Cockersands. It is right at the mount of the River Lune before it displaces its contents into Morecambe Bay. The light lighthouse marks the entrance to the river channel that goes up to Glasson Dock. It is great place to spot wading birds. Its a pity the tide was out. Warm but hazy atmosphere not good for clear pics. At least the haze hid the nuclear power station at Heysham. The birds are most likey redshank or dunlin.
