Nicky and her Nikon

A day of hope

I woke up to the very good news this morning about the Oxford/AstraZeneca. Although the headlines show that the vaccine offers 70% of people immunity, the trials also showed that with a certain dosage it offers 90% immunity - it is also cheap and is easy to distribute as it does not require extreme cold conditions like some of the other vaccines, so it will be more suitable to transport to third world countries where they do not have the facilities for extreme cold storage. In the UK our government has blundered their way through the entire pandemic, but finally they have done something right in ordering a high quantity of the various vaccines which is reassuring for all the population.

Today is also the fourth anniversary of my mother's death, I cannot believe it is already four years when it feels like it was not that long ago. I still think of her so often.

It was dull and cold this morning, but the sun broke through at about lunchtime which was unexpected. Here is Xena enjoying her walk, looking out for squirrels.

Only 8 more days left of our lockdown in England, but to be honest my life won't change much when it is lifted as we don't plan to go out to restaurants where we sit indoors in badly ventilated rooms.
