Diary of an Edinburgher

More clearing out!

Robert came to take Archie out as usual this morning. Actually, no, he didn’t. I was on my bike, and so hadn’t realised he was very late. Then he texted - he’d slept in. Archie watched out of the window patiently for about 40 minutes. However, they had a great time, as usual, both came back tired, wet and muddy. One of them had a coffee and shortbread, and the other had a warm bath.

JR is on a roll! She’s been tidying and clearing out more stuff. We have so many large cupboards, and so they’re all full - the more space you have... There’s a major re-organisation going on, involving getting rid of boxes of stuff. Another huge bag for the charity shop. In fact, I joined in a bit too, sorting through a box of stuff - it was scary to see the amount of boxes of Apple products that had been collected over the years. A lot of money!

We went for a wander over the Links in the afternoon, before coming back for a congratulatory G&T. But more, much more, to do.

I have an appointment at the Apple shop tomorrow to be shown a few tips and tricks on my new phone. It’s free, so I thought I might as well. I haven’t noticed anything too different from my old phone yet, though I think low light/nighttime photography has improved a lot.

Archie’s nocturnal naughties: He tried to get up on the bed three times, every hour from 11.30. He was ignored. He has been sleeping on the sofa quite happily for many months prior to this, so it’s not impossible.

Eventually, at 3.30am, I let him on the bed, where he slept soundly. A slight relapse at 7.30am, where he went and woofed at the back door, to be ignored. He soon realised his mistake and came back to bed till 8.30.
