Diary of an Edinburgher

By LadyMarchmont

Birthday!

While sorting out boxes of stuff, we’ve found a stash of holiday money - all sorts: Mexico, Jersey, South Africa, NZ, OZ, Tanzania, USA and Euros. Not much of each, so nothing to get too excited about.

When I took Archie out this morning, the sun was just lighting up parts of the city (Extra - though at the zooming limits of the iPhone). Archie’s vet student came to take him out again today, and he came back tired and muddy.

I managed 40 minutes on the bike (a whole episode of ‘This Life’) and then settled down for my arranged session with an Apple expert. I wanted to find out some tricks and tips about the camera, although I think I’m familiar with most of them. But my phone, as it sometimes does, went straight to voicemail. And it didn’t even alert me that I had a voicemail, and so we had to abandon the session. MOST annoying - it’s happened before, and I MUST do something about it.

We took a wander down town to the West End - we popped in to see our bathroom specialist about a wee ongoing problem they need to fix. And we had a coffee and deliciously chewy bun at Cairngorm Coffee. Archie and I got the bus home, while JR went off to the bank with her stash of loot that we’re not going to use in the foreseeable future. (Only to find that the bank closed at 2pm!)

It’s Elizabeth’s birthday today, but the planned party did not take place. So Archie dressed up in his tuxedo (reluctantly) and we walked round to her sister’s front door to see her - she’s having fish and chips and bubbles in her family bubble. Here’s Archie admiring the cake, and sulking at the same time.

PS He woofed at the back door at 3.27am. He was ignored, came back to bed, and slept in till 8.30 when I took him out.
