Lunch time run

Notable day today, day one in the office for the husband, all appears to be good and he's come home with a brand new iphone, new laptop and very nice rugged work-bag / briefcase.  He's also exhausted, the way you are when you are on your best behaviour all day long.

The eldest is very excited about Christmas.  VERY.  There is a lot of managing expectations going on, it's not Christmas next week and there are three weeks to go until the school Christmas party. And no, our Christmas tree is not going up today, or tomorrow.  Bless him.  They did dance around the kitchen to Jingle Bells this evening, so it's not all bah-humbug!!

I had a call at 5pm, could I help out with a presentation that is needs to be submitted on by Friday for a negotiation that is going on, so this evening I've done my half day's work for the week.  The shame of it is that I also worked this morning.  Ho hum.

I also spent the morning arranging a hair cut.  Not just any hair cut, but one by my lovely London hair dresser, he's been cutting my hair for about 20 years.  I have a meeting in London on Thursday and he happens to have a slot in the morning.  So childcare is arranged for the morning (and afternoon), train tickets booked and a place to hang-out for the day sorted. Life isn't quite as straight forward as it once was!

Today I'm grateful for:
Learning 'away in a manger' with the youngest, it's very lovely
Haircut
Getting the boys to help clean the house this afternoon, they did so with great gusto and wiped all the windows with furniture polish - after an initial panic, it works just fine as a window cleaner
