Finding My Bearings

By JustJuli

Lucky duckie!

Having spent almost every waking moment during the first lockdown sorting out our garden, I haven’t ventured out there much recently. Hopefully, though, the hard work of this year will mean we’ll be able to spend more time just enjoying it next year.

I was really pleased to see that the birdbath I’d made in the summer out of a plastic drip tray is still in place, as it’s not secured but just resting quite precariously on an old laurel stump and we’ve had some very windy weather lately.

The little rubber duck was donated by the man at the prize counter in the arcade on Brighton pier, who was most impressed (I think?!?) when I showed him a photo of said birdbath and he agreed that it did, indeed, need a rubber duck. I’m sure the £5 or so I’d already spent trying to win it more than covered the cost but it was still very kind of him... and the little duck always looks happy to be there!
