Bright visitors

Rain all day. We filled the bird feeders Monday after being gone a week. We spotted 8 male cardinals hanging around in the rain and as many females. The finches emptied the small feeders in 2 days. A red headed woodpecker and several blue jays have also brightened the yard today. A flock of blackbirds alternated between the bird feeder in the backyard and the puddles on the sidewalk in the front yard. Miya keeps watch for the squirrels but isn't opposed to making a flock of birds fly from her yard as well. She isn't trying to capture the birds though. I don't let her out if the cardinal gang is around since they are my favorites.
