Getting into the Christmas spirit

So many people have said that it just does not feel like Christmas, I suppose after such a difficult year with the pandemic, lockdowns and the constant threat of the virus lurking around like a silent enemy it is normal not to be feeling all jolly and full of Christmas joy. 

Luke and Meriel went up to London to see an exhibition and I was meant to join them and go see the Christmas lights but I just did not feel like walking around London on a cold winter's evening with my camera and tripod....I think I am feeling a bit too comfortable to just stay home instead seeing that is what we have been doing for so many months now. 

I decided I had to get into the Christmas spirit, so I took some photos of the Christmas decorations on the tree. I then fiddled around with the new colour grading settings on Camera Raw to give them a bit of a 1970's filmic feel and created this montage. I find I can never get a good photo of Christmas decorations, I never know how to photograph them, there is always a wire in the way, or a piece of the tree stem - anyway this will have to do.

Gavin had his 'Christmas party' on zoom today, only an hour long but some fun speeches and the staff were all very lucky to receive a generous John Lewis gift voucher in lieu of an actual party.
