RHS Wisley
This morning while Xena was out having a whale of a time with P the dog walker and her other doggy friends, I went off to get groceries for the weekend. I noticed that so many items that are popular at Christmas time are already out of stock (like Terry's Chocolate Orange) so I bought some cheeses and other things we usually only eat at Christmas time, in case they get low on stock too.
Xena arrived home muddy and filthy but happy, so Gavin washed her down for me while I was unpacking the groceries. I then left to meet a friend at RHS Wisley, whose birthday was yesterday, so it was a bit of a birthday get-together in lieu of the usual dinner she does every year which we cannot do due to Covid restrictions. It was only the two of us as the other two people who were meant to come could not make it.
It was not too busy, having to pre-book tickets means that the numbers allowed in are well controlled. The cafe was rather busy, many people were sitting outside but many were also sitting together inside who clearly were from different households - although its a current Covid restriction that only people from one household are allowed to eat together indoors this rule is being flagrantly disregarded.
The weather was mixed, a light rain followed by bright skies, and in this scene the sky is darkening again for the next rainfall while the light on the dogwoods was beautiful. Unfortunately that entire area has been roped off so I could not get closer to photograph the beautiful reflections of the dogwoods in the water. Later we managed to hang over the edge of the lake peering around some tall bushes to get the view in the extra. Despite being winter the gardens still look lovely.
Tonight we are having a take away, a Friday night treat - the only effort we have to make is to decide between Italian, Indian or Thai food!
