A Work In Progress
The 'pot' (based on the shape of an old ship's decanter) was missing 'something'.
At first I considered a bit of pyrography and while I considered what it sat on the desk with the dried flowers.
I liked the shape on one of the flowers but when I picked it up to see how it looked it fell apart.
So here it is being gradually glued on in a rough approximation of how it looked lying on the desk.
I am not sure how best to continue - spray glue or varnish to seal and solidify it, or just 'paint' it with a clear, thin glue.
I corrected the non fitting acorn boxes this morning and had a wee visitor with a huge grin - the wee girl from the bottom of the courtyard, who was delivering Christmas cards. She didn't hang about for long (far too busy to talk to me) but her Mum stood for a chat. She was saying that there is a bit of a cultural conflict going on in the house ...... she is Hungarian and Christmas for her is really on the 24th and the whole family puts up the decorations in the morning. Hubby on the other hand is Lebanese and everything starts on 1st on the month. I was telling her that when our kids were real youngsters we used to put everything up after they went to bed on Christmas Eve. We used to get as much joy from their faces in the morning as they got coming downstairs and seeing it all.
The format and printing of pictures for SWMBO's aunt's calendar has been checked - now I need to keep my fingers crossed that there is enough ink.
