Dear O'H dear and Lovely Tea Jenny,

Today is The Prince’s birthday. We went for a family walk on Portobello beach. Everyone was on good form - not even a single complaint about the length of the walk!

The Prince had mentioned how much he’d love a pint on his birthday so we met Kitty Cat and Marsh late afternoon for what can only be described as Jakey drinking. Despite not being able to drink alcohol indoors in pubs and restaurants, you can buy it to takeaway! We bought takeaway beers and mulled wine and sat in Bruntsfield Links at a park bench! In the dark. In the freezing cold. Along with some perplexed looking teenagers!

We were only out for about an hour (which was good as some of the teenagers were jealously eyeing up our table) but The Prince was delighted to have had a pub beer on his birthday.
