Sunday: Sunshine

So, continuing the saga of K’s accident, she has now developed a severe case of raccoon eyes (I would say google it, as it’s a real definition.  That said,  none of the images I found did anywhere near justice to the way K’s eyes looked.  I am thinking of selling her picture to the internet).

She was up very early and, having googled it, woke me up to say that she thought we thought we should go to the hospital.  Turns out she has also been feeling a bit more unwell and nauseous than she let on (for which she has been in a bit of trouble).  Added to that, raccoon eyes can be symptomatic of a brain injury.

By 0530am we were downtown at St Paul’s to visit the ER.  I couldn’t go in but within 2 hours K had been seen by a couple of doctors, had bloods, an ECG and a CT scan.  Fortunately she doesn’t have a fracture but she does have a diagnosed concussion and was told she was absolutely right to come in as her physical appearance did present itself as a brain injury.

All that required a diner breakfast to sort us out (at Sunshine Diner, seen here).  That and a relatively quiet day.

P.S.  There’s no point in asking to see K in her current condition.  In 11 years she has appeared exactly twice in my journal and only under much better circumstances.
