Fallen Beauty

Five days of rain have ruined most of the flowers in my garden. A lot of them will grow back, of course, but not the Jacobean lily. It rarely flowers, only three times in seven years. Here is the first time it bloomed. It is not a lily, but is a member of the Amaryllis family.

I was not kidding about the cold yesterday. This morning’s outdoor temperature was only 3ºC. The clouds lifted at last to show the mountains. See extra shot.
