A minute past midnight my family all over Surrey, Hampshire, Sussex and Greater London move to Tier 4 whilst we moved to Tier 2 yet spectators at sports matches recommenced.
The return to rugby in Cornwall was always going to see larger gatherings than previously and so it was at Redruth where they took on local rivals Camborne in a version of the game that is neither union or league.
Although the bars were shut the decent sized crowd could be spotted drinking from cans and bottles, Covid stewards pulling down their masks to speak to us, do you feel safe/comfortable, I suppose so as long as you impose your own ‘no-go area.
Joshua refereed the first match which meant arriving at the ground around 9:30am, by the time we left around 5:00pm I was chilled to the bone.

But rugby, (not as we know it), is back.
