Caerlaverock Nature Reserve

Another bright cold day here with snow on the surrounding hills. My friends’ dog Jess who had gone missing has been found . Such a relief.
I went on another longer walk today through Castle Woods and along the Merse at Caerlaverock.
Gazing over the Solway there were clear views of snowy mountains of the Lake District . Beautiful.
I met many friends en route and really enjoyed seeing their smiling faces and hearing their news.
I enjoyed watching the barnacle geese flying around in great numbers . Tens of thousands of Svalbard Barnacle geese migrate to these wetlands over the winter.
I stayed till sunset and saw a barn owl hunting again. A wonderful experience.
Glad to get home to a warm home and Cassie.
