Our third grandchild had a birthday in Covid times. We broke the rules and drove on a non-essential journey to Paddy Freeman park where we met the daughters and grandchildren.

The children had fun breaking ice in the pond then they did Pass the Parcel and bashed the Piñata - it took at lot of bashing compared with Thomas’s birthday when everything was soaking wet. Then it was
cake and presents from the car boot before we all headed home to beat the on-coming snow.

Next birthday is #2 daughter and Ella in February - I can’t see rules being any different.

Although guidelines say essential travel only the roads were as busy as normal and some camper vans were heading off up the valley.

There’s been another u turn, this time on primary schools in London. The teaching unions are pressing for a delay of 2 weeks nationwide.
