Locked up, locked down
We are in lockdown because of COVID-19, meant to stay in our locality. In practice that feels more like being locked up or locked in. Our home has become our sanctuary, but also our prison. Although we are allowed out for essentials we may not linger, so the trip to the shops or the daily walk feel like short term parole rather than a trip out. I am not complaining, only observing, we need to do what we have to do to beat this thing. But I can't help reflecting that freedom was never so valued until it was taken away.
