Diary of an Edinburgher

By LadyMarchmont

Frosty! And treacherous. JR took Archie out first thing, just as well. In fact, it was treacherous all day, even the road. By mid morning I went out to empty rubbish in the bin across the road, but I came back in. Too dangerous!

We both did quite a bit of tidying up and sorting things out. JR packed away all the Christmas decorations, and I sorted out my drawers, a job that has been pending for quite some time. I listened to an ‘ABC Conversations’ podcast about cheating in sport. Sounds quite ho-hum, but it was really interesting.

JR took Archie round to the Links in the afternoon, and it was lovely. He LOVES the snow.

The highest daily death toll: 1,325, with 68,053 new cases!

Now there’s a good idea: Everyone arriving in the UK from now on will need to have a recent negative Covid test, and to quarantine for 10 days, with spot checks and big fines for non compliance, to stop the new variant coming in. Only a few months too late...
