A1
Driving down the A1 to Newcastle (well Cramlington to be precise) I was getting the camera ready for the part where the dual carriageway opens up and there are overhead lights for several miles but then I realised as we turned off that on a trip to Cramlington we don't hit that bit so it led to a disappointing picture.
Late start from Jen, as per usual. We planed to be away by 1pm but she didn't get up till just after midday. By the time she tidied stuff up and got herself ready it after 3pm, which along with the visit to the petrol station to put air in the tyres and fill up the tank we hit the rush hour traffic quite badly and also discovered a few roadworks to slow us down. PLeasant enough once we hit the open road and Jen's driving soon made up for lost time. Bearing in mind we took the nest part of an hour to get to the edge of Edinburgh we still managed the whole journey in less than 3.
This still meant that my planned trip into Newcastle on the 19:09 train for a late birthday night out with my brother was put on hold and we just went out in Cramlington. It's not very exciting but there is some good ale to be had and it's mainly about the catching up rather than the surroundings.
